Dr. Muir's fields of expertise include geospatial techniques, Earth system science, and sustainability. Their research applies a systems science approach to interdisciplinary investigations of human-environment interactions, utilizing spatial models to explore themes such as environmental justice and sustainable development.
In addition to their research, Dr. Muir teaches Geographic Information Systems (GIS) courses within the Environmental Studies degree program. These courses provide students with both technical proficiency in GIS software and a solid foundation in geographical science, preparing them to address complex environmental and societal challenges.
