Apply to Graduate
The School of Life Sciences and Sustainability (SLSS) is currently updating its graduation procedure to reflect the new structure, which includes majors in Environmental Studies and Bioinformatics. While detailed steps and forms are still being finalized, we want to assure students that support and guidance will be available throughout the process.
What to Expect
Students should plan to apply to graduate at the beginning of the semester in which they will complete all degree requirements, including required courses, credit minimums, and any minors or certificates.
More detailed instructions and updated forms for SLSS students will be posted here soon. In the meantime, please keep the following general guidelines in mind.
- Complete your VCU graduation application through Records and Registration.
- Review your Degree Works audit to ensure all requirements are marked as complete or in progress.
- Check for accuracy in your listed major(s), minor(s), foreign language status, and total credits.
- Stay in communication with your academic advisor, especially if your audit looks incorrect or you anticipate any issues with graduation eligibility.
Stay Tuned
If you are planning to graduate soon, we recommend checking this page regularly for updates. SLSS will release program-specific graduation checklists and exit survey details for Biology, Environmental Studies, and Bioinformatics students as soon as they are available.
If you have urgent questions or need help reviewing your graduation timeline, please get in touch with your academic advisor directly.
