Virtual Office Hours for Biology Advising
Our Biology Academic Advisors are here to support you! For the rest of the fall semester, we'll be offering virtual office hours as an easy and convenient way to connect with a professional advisor.
These drop-in sessions are a great option if:
- You have a quick question about classes, registration, or resources
- You need help but your assigned advisor isn't available
- You just want to check in and make sure you're on track
No matter the reason, we're here to help you succeed.
Virtual Office Hours Schedule
- Mondays: 2 - 4 PM
- Tuesdays: 1 - 3 PM
- Wednesdays: 10 AM - 12 PM
- Thursdays: 1 - 3 PM
- Fridays: 10AM - 12 PM
Students should come prepared with their V-number and specific questions for advising. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to meet with a specific advisor, but you will have the opportunity to meet with an experienced biology advisor. If you are a prospective student or newly admitted student, please email bioadvising@vcu.edu to schedule an appointment.

Virtual Advising:
- Join our virtual advising session via Zoom from your desktop or mobile app at https://vcu.zoom.us/j/82421570867. You must be logged into your VCU Zoom account (your Zoom email/password is the same as your VCU email/password).
- Upon logging in, you will enter our waiting room and soon be greeted by a Biology Advisor. If the office hour time has yet to begin, you will need to wait until the office hour advisor has started the meeting.
- During high-demand times, the advisor may place you in a private breakout room (if needed).
- We highly recommend using a laptop or desktop computer, especially if we need to access the eServices/Degree Works system and may need to share screens during your session. We also recommend using headphones if you cannot attend the meeting from a private place.
- Due to safety and privacy, meetings will be ended if you attempt to connect.
- While you are in class, actively working, or in another meeting.
- While you are driving or traveling.
- If you are in a public space or otherwise preoccupied.
- When you and your advisor are finished, you can leave the meeting.
